I have to be honest — I’m frustrated and even angry. As a parent, I expect a kids’ show to be fun, lighthearted, and safe. But when I watched the first episode of Amazon’s Bat-Fam with my child, I was caught off guard by something I never anticipated.
In Episode 1, a ghostly grandfather gives the kids a ball that contains a demon, which is released if the person holding it tells a lie. Then, when the demon appears, the grandfather instructs the children to place a spell on its head, and he speaks in tongues to send it back into the ball.
This is witchcraft and demonic imagery — and I had to explain witchcraft to my child. Given my own past with spiritual deception, this made me even more angry. I know firsthand how dangerous these things can be and how subtly the enemy tries to influence young minds.
Seeing it presented as “fun” for children only makes the reality of the enemy’s schemes more apparent. While the show may appear innocent or humorous, it exposes children to occult practices and normalizes behaviors that are spiritually dangerous. Our children are the most impressionable, and media like this can create questions, curiosity, or confusion about spiritual matters if left unchecked.
I share this warning not to instill fear, but to encourage discernment. Parents, preview the episodes first, watch alongside your children, and be prepared to explain the spiritual truths behind what they see. Teach them that true power and protection come from God, not spells, curses, or supernatural tricks.
We can’t always control what our children encounter, but we can guide them with prayer, wisdom, and discernment, helping them recognize the difference between the light of God and the tricks of the enemy. Stay vigilant — the enemy is subtle, and our children’s hearts are precious.
please share this with parents who could use this warning. 🙏
